| I just completed a fresh rebuild and did my first oil change today. The engine ran castrol GTX at idle for about 30 minutes while setting the idle, timing and burping the coolant system. The engine never over heated and idles rock solid so I'm at a loss here. It has been driven about 3 miles since the rebuild. I torqued the new head bolts to spec per the FSM. I do not have any oil in the coolant/radiator and the car isn't overheating. I haven't done a compression test yet (just wanna have a stiff drink after discovering this) but I'll add new oil tomorrow and let it heat up prior to the test. I'm grasping at straws here but I did have the center coolant gallery cleaned up by the machine shop. It's possible that he went too deep and cut a hole into an oil gallery. Not sure if that's the case but I don't know. Any ideas on how to test? FML...
